Do you spend a lot of money or are you good at saving? If you're good at saving, what tricks do you use?

i just don't buy anything I literally can't afford. But that is not saying I save money. That's just saying I don't overcharge my debit or credit cards. But I have OCD for shopping for certain things, and i'm dealing with it by saying to myself i don't need the item at all. That I am not suffering without it. It's hard when it's something you really want and you do know you have the money to buy it but you don't want to because either you feel guilty or just give in.

2012 New Year's Resolutions

It's not wrong to brainstorm a New Year's Resolution especially when things are either going well or going downhill for you the current year. Most people do it because they want to make changes in their life for the better. I think it's important to visualize what you want to accomplish the following year. More successful people do this and that's how they become "Rich" in their own way.

*Raises glass* "Here's to a brand new path on the open road we like to call Life!"...

My New Year's Resolutions

  1. Have more independence. Nothing like doing things yourself most of the time or going places by yourself that gives you the feeling of independence and freedom to choose your own paths. Sometimes including people in your own plans are disastrous.
  2. Solo Traveling is where it's at. I love to travel but rarely do so alone.
  3. Motivational inheritance. I wished I was passed down the gift of constant motivation. Since I wasn't, I'd have to create my own and perhaps I can pass it down to my own children.
  4. Cutting down the Video Game Backlog by 80%. I don't game everyday, but starting Jan 1, 2012, I plan to game at least 3 hours a day. This helps me write more reviews. Reviewing equals money!
  5. Start using the Zen Teachings. This will help me focus on my goals and my happiness.
  6. Start my business and consulting practice. My two main professional goals of the new year is to start my business targeting the video game industry and to start a consulting service as a Social Media Marketing Specialist.
Have your own Resolutions you'd like to share? Be sure to post them in the comments!

Happy New Year's!

Being Thankful

ThanksGiving Day has came and went. Some stuffed our faces with great food and some went about their business as a normal day. The point of Thanksgiving is to shout out what you are thankful for. My aunt asked me this question: "What are you thankful for?"

I only got to list one of the things I'm thankful for at the time, however, there's more I'd like to list:

  1. Thankful for still having a home I can come to.
  2. Thankful for still having a family I can call and talk to.
  3. Thankful for having enough food to eat and clothes on my body.
  4. Thankful for having some money to get where I need to go.
  5. Thankful for having internet so that I can have the hope of making more money and staying in touch with long-distance friends.
  6. Thankful for cable and netflix even though I shouldn't watch it as much as I do.
  7. Thankful for my video games, music, books, movies and other entertaining things to help keep me happy.
  8. Thankful for still being healthy although I need to lose weight.
  9. Thankful for not having any kids before I'm ready.
  10. And most of all Thankful for my 5-year relationship with my boyfriend. We do plan to marry but it's no rush :D
After all these things I am thankful for, it should not just be said on a holiday but said on each and everyday. So what are YOU thankful for? Acknowledging the things you have and being thankful for it is a good step towards being Rich WITHOUT money..

Knowing Your Limits

Recently I accepted a News Writer position knowing full well I had too many projects going on. But I was excited and felt good hearing someone liked my work enough to pay me in the future. This job would have started me on a 30-day trial with a talk of compensation at the end if my work was good enough for the main editors.

It seemed all right at the time, however, after really considering how much work I'd have to put in and my current schedule, I just saw no way of pursing it any further. Also, after glancing the run-around that a writer must do for that site kind of scared me off. I love a good challenge, just not at the expense of my current project schedule and my life. No, I'd rather spend that same time looking for a paying full-time position. As what? I'm still working that out.
I'm getting opportunities that will test my journalist abilities. I know I can be a good video game journalist but is it something I really want to do or do I see it as quick money? Knowing my limits and shortcomings will help me advance to the next level. After all, it's the time and effort you put in that makes you successful.

I Am Born Rich and I can Become Rich

Your first thought is how can you be born Rich and then become Rich? Aren't you Rich already then?
The answer does not lie with traditional concepts of being Rich. Rich is associated with money. So is Wealth. But being Rich and Wealthy does not necessarily mean you have lots of money.

I will establish for this blog that Rich and Wealthy can also mean Rich by mental, physical and emotional health and wisdom. I was born Rich because I had a loving family and a roof over my head, food to eat and clothes on my back. I had a childhood and friends to play with. I will become Rich because I have dreams and goals to build my own Empire in the video game industry, to succeed in my weight loss journey and to have my own family to pass down the Wealth.
